1 Year Blog Anniversary + Best Green Beauty Discoveries
To be honest, I couldn't have done it without the support of my bestfriend & friends who inspire me to continue to post consistently and to grow creatively—and thank you to everyone who has visited my blog or commented on my Instagram photos! :)
I've always wanted to start a blog ever since high school but never got around to it until the beginning of college. However, when I created my first blog during my first year of college, I never told anyone about it which made me lose motivation to post—soon after, that blog was no longer in my interest and I eventually just forgot about it.
Then I discovered green beauty in September 2015, become so intrigued, and had so many questions for Google like, "what's the best natural makeup brand?" or "what's a good, natural mascara?" but couldn't find many helpful blog posts or reviews—so I thought why not start a blog about this niche topic?
Now let's get to the fun part! Here are the best natural and organic beauty products I've discovered this past year in the following categories: body, makeup, and skincare (it was sooo difficult to narrow down to one item per category)!
The skin on my body is always dry, no matter what season it is! This is the only thing that keeps my body moisturized for days. After showering, before towel drying, I apply this oil on my damp skin and it just sinks in like a dream. No oily residue at all! It leaves my skin silky soft, even after another shower.
Vapour Organic Beauty Atmosphere Luminous Foundation, $44
I used to only wear powder foundation because it was the only thing that didn't break me out until I discovered this bad boy. This stick foundation doesn't contain any cacao, coconut, or shea butter ingredients so it works well with acne-prone skin. This dewy foundation in the shade 115 matches me perfectly, provides light to medium coverage, and doesn't cake up or settle into fine lines! It gets along with all skin types—doesn't cling onto dry patches and doesn't slip off if your skin is oily (just set it with powder)!
SW Basics Toner, $22
I still suffer from acne breakouts on my forehead (which is probably caused by improper liver detoxification and lack of sleep) so I need something that will minimize my blemishes and fade scars at the same time. This toner contains apple cider vinegar (don't worry it doesn't stink) which zaps pimples away and has exfoliating properties to diminish scars. I've repurchased this over and over again and will continue to do so!
Thanks so much for reading! I'd love to know what your best beauty discoveries are!
