Honey Girl Organics Face & Eye Creme + Lip Balm Stick Review

Honey Girl Organics Face & Eye Creme + Lip Balm Stick Review

7 Days later, Spring is already in full bloom here in LA. I love seeing the pink flowering trees—they just make me feel so happy and girly. The floral scenery have really inspired these photos. :)

Here's another haul from the Indie Beauty event in Los Angeles that happened not too long ago! I was gifted the Extra Sensitive Face & Eye Creme and the Lip Balm Stick by the lovely people from Honey Girl Organics, however, all opinions are honest.

Honey Girl Organics Face & Eye Creme + Lip Balm Stick Review
Extra Sensitive Face & Eye Creme, $32.99
Ingredients: Purified Water, Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Organic Beeswax, Organic Wilelaiki (Christmas Berry) Honey, Vitamin E Oil (Tocobiol Liquid)

For the past few months, I've been experiencing a lot of acne breakouts on my forehead and also a little bit of uneven skin texture on my cheeks. I didn't know what was causing my blemishes so I decided to simplify my skincare routine and remove a lot of products out and used specific products for two weeks or more to see how my skin responds.

Prior to using this cream, my face was extremely dry and flaky on my cheek and nose areas. I found that this really helped nourish and seal in the moisture and left my skin feeling soft the next morning. I also like that it has a minimal amount of ingredients—only 5 to be exact!

The cream is packed with antioxidants and collagen-stimulating ingredients like honey, royal jelly, propolis, and olive oil. I'm a big fan of honey because of the antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties (aka will help calm my breakouts).

To be honest, this has become one of my favorite moisturizers because it sinks into my skin quickly. So the texture is just like any other moisturizing lotions but then it turns into an oil, so it will feel like you've just applied a facial oil. I also love that my my skin looked and felt more supple after using it (similar effect as the Maya Chia Waterless Balm but easier to apply).

One of the main reasons why I love this cream is because it doesn't cause my skin to break out, even though olive oil is around 55% oleic (it also scored a rating of 2 on the comedogenic score, meaning it's not likely to clog pores)—and I've been using it for over two months.

Pros
  • 95% organic and non-GMO
  • Nourishes dry, flaky skin
  • Doesn't trigger breakouts
  • Cream melts into the skin quickly
  • Leaves the skin feeling soft + looking dewy
  • Doubles up as an eye cream
  • Perfect for sensitive skin
  • Does not contain any coconut, cacao, or shea based ingredients (those cause me to breakout)
Cons
  •  Inside, on the side of the jar, the cream dries up and turns crusty

Lip Balm Stick, $5.39
Ingredients: Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Organic Beeswax, Organic Orange Essential Oil, Organic Orange Extract, Organic Vanilla Extract, Organic Stevia Extract Powder

I can't live a day comfortably if I don't have my lip balm. My lips are seriously so dry no matter what so I need all the lip balms I can get.

I've been using this one every single day since I got it. It soothes my dry, inflamed lips without leaving a greasy feeling.

Pros
  • The moisture lasts for a good amount of time
  • Doesn't melt in high temperature evironments—aka you can put this in your pocket with no worries
  • Doesn't give you that "I-just-ate-salad-dressed-with-a-lot-of-vinaigrette" look
Cons
  • None!

As you probably can tell, I'm really impressed with Honey Girl Organics! I love the cream and the lip balm more than I anticipated and would definitely repurchase.

They're also available at Whole Foods which would be a great way to test out the texture of the products before purchasing. :) Let me know if you've tried anything from Honey Girl Organics!
