Lauren B. Beauty Nail Couture Collection & Review
Two months ago, I attended Indie Beauty Expo in Los Angeles and discovered so many beautiful green beauty brands & I'm excited to share one of them with you today!
Lauren B. Beauty offers vegan, high quality, 5-free nail polishes in a gorgeous array of shades. I actually had the pleasure of meeting Lauren, the founder, and she gifted me these—however, all opinions are my own.
These nail polishes are formulated without formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, DBP, toluene and camphor, making it safer than majority of the conventional nail polishes that you find at typical beauty stores! The brushes are also generously packed with bristles, making it easier to apply the polishes.
I normally don't do my nails mainly because of the strong & toxic odor but there are times where I have the urge to paint my nails because it feels so therapeutic and relaxing (sometimes it makes me feel pretty, y'know).
This base coat (pictured above on the right) has the slightest skin-toned tint to it which helps hide discoloration but the coolest thing about this is that it dried down to a nice, satin-matte finish. It also made my nails look less bumpy.
I notice that my nail polish glides smoothly on top, even when I don't use the same nail polish brand for the color. Plus, it dries really fast!
There's no point in painting your nails and skipping the top coat unless you don't mind your hard work chipping within a few days—this top coat really seals everything in and leaves a crazy high-shine.
The dry time is really quick, but not fast as the base coat. I notice that the nails with this top coat last 2-3 extra days.
Beach Bride, $18
This nude, taupe shade is my favorite shade of all time! I love a good nude and this one is exactly what I've been searching for!
It doesn't contain any shimmers or pearlescent effect and applies opaquely. I was able to get away with 2 coats!
Sunset Tower, $18
This bright, peachy pink reminds me of the warm, summer sunsets. It's a fun color that would flatter light and deep skin tones.
It applies opaquely but I need 2-3 coats to ensure even coverage.
A light, sheer baby pink shade that makes my nails look understated but pretty at the same time? How could I not love this shade?
Since this is really sheer, I needed 3-4 coats. This is my second favorite shade out of the three colors!
Overall, I really enjoyed these polishes from Lauren B. Beauty! The polishes last 1 week on my nails (the right side always chips first because I'm a righty). I've seen her products at Wholefoods but they only offered a few shades. Luckily, she brought all the shades to Indie Beauty and I must say, there's a LOT—so there's something for everyone!
Let me know which shade is your favorite!
