My Beauty Essentials for the Desk
Hello! This week I'm sharing my current beauty essentials I keep on my desk at home and at work! Most of these items I'm sharing are new to me, in terms of brand, but I generally keep something similar with me either on my desk or in my bag at all times.
Side note: A bug bit my middle finger on my left hand on Saturday (boohoo) so it's kind of hard to type so I'll keep it short and simple today.
First and foremost, let me tell you, my lips need to be coated with lip blam or lipstick at all times. Whenever my lips are naked, they feel extremely dry and uncomfortable so I always keep one on my desk so I can easily reach for it and reapply.
I'm currently loving this one from Honey Girl Organics. It retails for $5.39, contains 96% organic ingredients, and is free from toxic ingredients. Doesn't leave the lips feeling oily or looking greasy.
I'm a firm believer of aromatherapy and always keep at least one essential oil with me—most of the times it's lavender because it helps ease headaches, calms my mind, and also relieves stomachaches which I frequently suffer from.
I got this one recently from The Stell x Soul Sunday which retails for $28. It's a beautiful blend of geranium, rose, and neroli. The girly, rose scent lifts my mood and the act of rolling it against my wrists makes me feel like I'm taking care of myself. The fragrance is light and doesn't last too long but I prefer that because 1) the scent isn't offensively overpowering and 2) it feels good to reapply!
If you know me, then you know that I have dry, peasant hands. No, seriously. My hands and cuticles are always so rough. That's why I must have a hand cream with me, in all areas possible! Areas include my nightstand, handbag, and desk—I have a lot lying around and am always open to trying out new hand creams. :)
I decided to get this when I purchased the Stell x Soul Sunday fragrance because it said "rose" on it. I'm into anything rose-scented. This Grown Alchemist Intensive Hand Cream retails for $27 and has a nice lightweight lotion texture to it. I thought it would be thick and creamy like the name suggests but it feels like any other lotion. Also, this doesn't smell like rose—it smells like pepto bismo to me... :( but, hey, at least it makes my hands softer!
So most of the times, hand cream is not enough to keep my hands and nails in tip-top shape. I often need some sort of oil or balm to really seal in the moisture and nourish my crusty cuticles. An added bonus is that it makes my nails shiny!
I received this LAIA Skincare December Facial Balm through a giveaway on Instagram and my cuticles have been loving it! It's quite pricey at $44 but contains only organic ingredients: mango butter, baobab seed oil, argan oil, and camellia seed oil.
Thanks for reading! If you have any natural hand cream recommendations, I'd love to hear—never enough hand cream, y'know!
What do you keep on your desk to keep you feeling and looking 100%?
