Fig + Yarrow Gold Clay Mask Review

Fig + Yarrow Gold Clay Mask Review hellolindasau natural skincare brand target
Hello, hello! It's been a minute since I've posted—these past few weeks have been a bit crazy and busy for me. Two weeks ago, I was recovering from a really bad allergic reaction to a bug bite that caused swelling in my left hand and wrists (this was the second time a bug bit and made my hand swell up, ugh). Last week, I went on a business trip to Las Vegas and didn't have enough time to prepare a post. And this past weekend, I graduated and walked at my school's commencement ceremony.

All of this plus stress, poor diet, and lack of sleep contributed to my skin troubles. As a result, I found myself reaching for the Fig + Yarrow Gold Clay Mask more and more. I previously reviewed their Red Clay Mask here but decided to go for this gold one because it's best suited for dry, sensitive skin whereas the red one was for oilier, combination skin.

The Gold Clay Mask is described as:
A gently cleansing and soothing exfoliating mask best suited for irritated, dry, and blemish-prone skin.

Ingredients: Illite (French Yellow Clay), Bentonite (Clay), Essential Oil of Anthemis Nobilis (Chamomile)

Pros
  • Has a light, pleasant scent (almost smells like candy!)
  • Easy to apply—I add some of the product onto the lid, mix with water, and apply with a brush
  • Doesn't leave the skin feeling dry or stripped
  • Helps reduce redness
  • Reduces existing acne and brings underlying blemishes to the surface of the skin
  • Softens the skin
  • Extremely gentle exfoliation
Cons
  • None

Overall, I prefer this gold mask over the red one because it smells better and is a lot gentler. It nourishes the dry parts of my face and evens out my complexion. I wouldn't say it drastically improved my acne breakouts (been using it since March), but it did help reduce the pain of my blemishes.

The Gold Clay Mask retails for $24 and can be purchased on Credo Beauty as well as Fig + Yarrow's website. You can also find their other clay masks at Target!

Have you tried any clay masks? Let me know which one I should try next!

  1. I'm sorry to hear about the allergic reaction. Congratulations on graduating! Good to see fellow Broncos walking the stage.

I've heard so much about clay masks lately! The one I tried out was the Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask. I liked the bubbling effect. I definitely need to give this a try with all of the pros that you experienced! The price seems right to me. I checked out Amazon and it's $23 with prime shipping.

    Thanks for sharing :)!

    1. Woohoo! Go Broncos! :)

I've seen the bubble clay mask all over YouTube and the Asian Beauty communities! It's crazy how popular it became.
