S.W. Basics Toner Review
After watching tons of YouTube videos and reading about what natural products help clear the skin, numerous of people mentioned they used apple cider vinegar as a toner. I tried using apple cider vinegar at night as a toner but wasn't a fan of the strong scent and the tingly feeling it left on my skin—fortunately, I saw that S.W. Basics has a toner made specifically for blemish-prone skin plus it contains organic apple cider vinegar with the mother!
The full-sized 4 oz bottle of the S.W. Basics Toner retails for $22.00. I bought mine at my local Target. I've repurchased the full-sized bottles so many times that I lost count and featured it in my anniversary blog post which you can read here!.
Ingredients: Water, Organic Raw Apple Cider Vinegar, Organic Witch Hazel, Organic Essential Oils Of Clary Sage And Sandalwood
Pros
Contains minimal ingredients
The apple cider vinegar doesn't smell too strong
Really helped diminish my acne breakouts
Clary Sage and Sandalwood essential oils have antibacterial properties
Exfoliates dead skin cells
Perfect for oily, blemish-prone skin
Comes in a glass bottle
Cons
Can cause my eyes to water if I apply it too closely to the area
Although it doesn't smell too strong, it doesn't smell the most pleasant either
If you have a cut, it will burn!
The metal lid starts to rust :(
After using this toner consecutively from the beginning of January to May, I've noticed dramatic improvements to my skin: I have less breakouts and my acne scars are less noticeable. Please note that I also changed my diet and lifestyle a little which also played a role in clearing my skin.
Toners are definitely essential in skincare! I've heard of apple cider vinegar is good for weight loss but didn't know it's good as a toner as well! I know the smell is strong for me as well. Target is kicking butt with all of these indie brands! Thanks for sharing :)!
